Well, trying to get this page to load was interesting. There very nearly wasn’t a blog post tonight!
I went on a nearly-30 mile bike ride on Friday, since I had Thursday and Friday off… what an experience (read: bike ride from hell). Got lost – just because the “trail closed” sign has been moved off to the side does not, apparently, mean that the trail is actually open. So rather than be smart and turn around, I climbed over the sandbag barrier that I’d ended up on the wrong side of, and took to surface streets. I had a rough idea of which way I needed to be heading, but no concrete idea of where I actually was… Then I got a flat. Rear tire, flat as a pancake. I’m so glad I had a spare tube, tire levers, an CO2 pump with me! It was still a pain to swap out the tire, and kneeling in all that grass I’m allergic to in order to change the tire wasn’t the best move either. That would have been a great call to mom – “Flat tire, I have no idea where I am, but come get me”.
My sunburn from Flying Wheels is finally hurting/itching less, and starting to peel a little. The tailbone still hurts – jerked it good the other night, and YEOW. I do not recommend tailbone injuries.
Friday night I also went and saw Toy Story 3. Friends were either working or busy, so I went and saw it by myself. Great movie, though I teared up good in a few spots. I do love Pixar movies! It’s a must-see, but I suggest kleenex or a hanky! I got looking at Jessie from Toy Story good, and I think I want to dress up as her for Halloween. The costume should be pretty easy to pull together, and I’ll just have to not cut my hair short like I was toying with doing after the STP so I’ve got a good braid for it! Now if only I can find somebody to dress up as Buzz or Woody…
Work has been just crazy the last two days… Surprise, surprise, a sporting goods store is slammed right before and on Father’s Day! The rest of the week was pretty slow, though… all the rain is killing sales. This weather is nuts for the end of June – it seems like we’ve only had a handful of sunny days this year, and is feeling more like October than June!
