I’m sure many people have already found how easily you can get lost on Pinterest and lose hours at the same time. From home organization to crafting and DIY… I stumbled upon succulents. I’ve never been horribly interested in them, though I liked the hen-and-chicks my mom had when I was little, but I never knew they came in so many shapes and colors, and that you could grow them in all sorts of containers. Hello, new hobby, or at least a new interest. They’re extra interesting in that they’re supposed to be wicked hard to kill through neglect, which is one of my specialties!
I got two little (two inch) succulents from Home Depot, both green. They’ll continue to live in their teeny plastic pots until I figure out if I can find any others I like that are cheap, and how I want to pot them. The potting will likely wait until after the move and unpacking, as moving looks to be soon and I’m not sure what will work best where.
As my “self watering” African Violet pots seem to have finally soaked my African Violets to death (they rotted at the base) which means I’ve finally killed the African Violet I got in 2005. I was able to salvage some leaves to work on starts with some root growth hormone and some luck. Hopefully several take, so I’ve got a better shot at a couple new plants! So far it looks like I may have luck with a couple, but these are sure slow going!
