I’ve got some good plans for the spare room I get to use as a sewing room… and I’ve finally got enough floor – so we decided to make things easier to repaint and just ripped out the baseboards. We’ll be replacing them with brand new ones.
energy post-surgery to work on getting it there! The last owner had painted the room blue. Not like a nice, tasteful blue, but the kind of blue that matched the blue painter’s tape exactly. We also discovered they’d gotten a fair amount of it on the baseboards when they’d painted the room – thank goodness it scrapes off the laminate floor where they got it on the
Destin did a lot of work last weekend helping me prime the walls with a heavy duty primer from Rodda, and even after two coats you could see the blue trying to bleed through a little in a few spots. I did get another blue to paint the room, a nice, light, and cheery “sky blue” from Lowes. Thankfully what they gave me is one of their “paint + primer” deals, to cover up whatever the two coats of primer missed! I also bought a can of “ceiling white” for the ceiling and the majority of the closet.
Today I was able to get two coats of “ceiling white” on the ceiling and one coat in the closet before I ran out of paint. A gallon of paint sure goes quick when it’s flat paint you’re painting onto old flat paint! I was able to get all the cutting in done in two coats for that color, at least! I was also able to get one coat of “sky blue” on the walls tonight, but decided at 9pm that any cutting in could wait!
