We got about six or seven inches of snow last Saturday. It was gorgeous, and gone by Sunday night/Monday morning. Monkey didn’t approve and seemed to think I’d made it happen just to keep her home – she decided that cold wet feet wasn’t a good thing – and Mia really didn’t approve of being woken up from a nap to be plopped down in snow that was belly-deep. Getting home from my cousin Julia’s baby shower on Saturday got a little hairy as I got closer to home, but thankfully I’ve got both all wheel drive, and a boyfriend that let me know that it was starting to snow in earnest, so I knew I should get heading home from Auburn! Even with the cold weather, Monkey has still been enjoying mornings outdoors and seems to be a little calmer indoors. I just wish she would wait until it was at least light out to start crying to go out in the mornings! She hasn’t figured out yet that she is not going outdoors in the dark, but I’ve got no qualms about giving her a good hour or two of “garage time” so I can get back to sleep!
Last night after I got home from work, I heard a hissing noise coming from my rear driver’s side tire. Uh-oh. Thankfully I made it all the way home before the tire pressure light came on, and we’ve got room in the garage to pull my car in to change the tire, instead of changing a tire in the dark rainy night! Also thankful that I’ve got a full size spare so I can wait until Saturday to get my tire fixed, and a boyfriend that can change a tire way faster than I can! Looks like I ran over one of those good sized screws they use for screwing metal siding/roofing together. The rubber washer on it probably saved my butt from having to change a tire on the shoulder of the road at 9:30 at night!
For Valentine’s Day, I crocheted this red “pop heart” by Diana over at MyGurumi to send to my Grandma. It was fun and fast to make, and I had fun filling the padded envelope with red and white paper shreds I bought at the Dollar Tree. I hope it didn’t make too much of a mess when she opened it! I meant to email her to be careful opening it, but I mailed it yesterday, and it arrived today! I had a lovely voice mail from her waiting when I got off of work today. I’d also made a second heart for a patient at work that I’d enjoyed talking to, who came into our clinic yesterday. I had a great time talking with her while she was there, and she also really enjoyed her crochet heart. She asked where I find the time to crochet, since I work full time… the answer: when I get to work early… on my breaks and lunch… when I’m catching up on my tv shows… pretty much any time I have a few minutes where I’m sitting down! Some patterns are easier than others to work in short bursts, but I’m making it work!
