Thanks to Diana’s blog (specifically this post, and this one) and Pinterest, I’ve gotten very interested in using a day planner again instead of just my phone calendar and random post-it notes stuck all over inside my purse. I’d been debating between sizes, and finally settled on the “personal” size from Filofax, which is compatible with a standard planner size here in the US – I like that it fits in my purse easier than the next size up… and is actually compatible with US planners for refills. As a side note… because I’m so known for staying focused or on track… why are most cool things only available in the UK or Europe?!. So, I’ve dug out my old Day-Timer planner for the time being, until I figure out which Filofax binder I want 😉
With help from Microsoft Publisher, I made fold out monthly calendar pages for my planner for May to December 2014. I printed them on card stock for now (unsure if it will add too much thickness once I fill this thing up!), and used washi tape to help protect the holes. Folded, it’s the size of one of my planner pages, without the folded half getting caught in the holes. I have a PDF file available if anybody is interested, just keep in mind it’s sized for US Letter (8.5″x11″).
I cheated (and I’m sure I’ll regret it) and used my sewing rotary cutter to cut out the pages as I don’t have an actual paper cutter. It works so well, though I know it’s terrible for the blade!
