While watering tonight, I came across this little guy… not sure if it’s a frog or a toad, but I’m leaning towards toad. I don’t think he appreciated how well I was watering the plant he was sheltered under, but I’m sure the moisture was a relief after the heat of the day!
My first marigold bloomed! I planted them from seed this year, and several others are getting ready to bloom as well. I’m not terribly patient while waiting for things to grow from seed.
It looks like I should have a handful or two of raspberries this year if I can keep my raspberry plant watered. It’s got to be horribly root-bound in the huge flower pot that it’s been living in for the last 8 years or so, but since I’m finally not renting, I think it will be time to find it a spot in the ground by next spring!
Some daisies have volunteered along our fence line… along with a massive amount of blackberry bushes. Having always lived suburban/urban rather than rural, I’m pretty tickled that daisies are wildflowers out here! And hopefully we’ll have a wet enough summer that the blackberries will be nice and plump… for lots of blackberry jelly!
Lastly, and somewhat rudely, our little barometer from Jan and Birgitta in Sweden predicts good weather. He gets rather… droopy… when it is going to rain.
(it occurs to me that I should either go back to hosting these photos through photobucket, or at least create folders for organization for my photo uploads to google… which will not be retro-ed to already posted photos, because honestly, re-adding all of my old photos is just too much work! Any suggestions from other bloggers out there?)
