I’ve been meaning to make the time to go visit my Grandma for quite a while. I really have. But I keep coming up with other stuff that needs doing, and with rush hour traffic weekdays after work, and what’s about an hour drive without traffic, I just hadn’t made the time.
But I had yesterday off, and so I made the time. Luckily, she didn’t have plans 🙂 I was able to get moving early and get some errands done, before picking up lunch on the way from my Grandma’s favorite Taco Time location (not the one closest to her, but where she used to live), and heading up for a nice visit.
We chatted about a little of everything, and I noticed (I’m sure I’d known at some point) that she had one of my favorite photos of her and my Grandpa framed on her nightstand – the photo that I used for the “admire” prompt in July’s photo-a-day contest… I really miss him. I had a great time getting to spend one-on-one time with her – it’s hard to visit much with any one person when the whole family gets together.
For a throwback… here’s a photo of me with my grandparents at my college graduation in 2008.
