…of what is going to be a huge project by the time we finish!
Since we had to remove so much flooring from my sewing room, courtesy of the water heater, we had to pick out new floor because so much of the existing flooring was damaged – and the company that made the original flooring no longer makes that color.
And so my poor sewing room has been stripped bare! We actually can’t get the white shelving unit back out of the room without taking it apart, which would most likely damage it -based on past experience with Ikea furniture – so we’ll have to work around it. Emptying it out tonight, I hadn’t realized exactly how much stuff I’d been able to fit into it!
Destin is hoping to work on getting the new floor into my sewing room this weekend, and from there it will be the guest room, and eventually the rest of the house! We chose the “Natural Oak” color from Pergo, which will be nice and light and neutral. I think we’ll also be doing the baseboards and other wood trim in white, for a nice contrast to the floors rather than trying to stain baseboards to match. It was a nightmare trying to match the baseboards we already replaced to the existing flooring!
Now that we’ve settled on floor color, and narrowed down ideas for an eventually for the kitchen, it’s time to pick out wall paint and get to work painting the rest of the house! I’ll be posting photos as we do little bits… and I’ll have to be sure to take “before” photos, as well!
