Christmas has come and gone… we got the lights outside taken down, but I still have yet to make the time to take down the Christmas tree. Thankfully, it’s a fake one, so it hasn’t turned brown and nasty! I’ve been taking a little break from crafting after the madness of getting ready for Christmas, though I’ve got some fabric pinned and ready to sew for more bags for my Etsy shop, and a pen roll design started, by the request of a friend.
Destin and I both came down with colds on Christmas Eve, and while his has gotten better, mine is still hanging on. It wouldn’t be so bad if my lungs were working properly, but being sick has really aggravated my asthma, which is making me exhausted. I was able to leave work early yesterday and come home and sleep the rest of the day – Mia was very supportive of making sure that lots of napping was taking place – and I got some medicine from my doctor today so hopefully I will start improving very soon. I’ve only got one day left to work this week – hooray for a four day weekend – so I’m sure that will help too. I’m very excited to have Friday off, as I’m getting a badly needed haircut!
I’ve been looking at more planner/organizer ideas – you may recall that I’ve tried a faux Filofax, and a Midori, but they didn’t seem to work quite right for me. I’ve been looking at the Staples Arc notebooks lately, which seem like a good option since they aren’t as bulky as a 3-ring binder, and if you purchase the special hole punch, there’s no end of options for them. There are also a variety of brands that all offer compatible discbound products, such as Levenger’s Circa series, and Rollabind, and tons of printables that you can find online or on Etsy for the standard sizes (8.5″ x 11″ or 5.5″ by 8.5″). I’m playing with it right now, so if it works out, I’ll try to add some photos later. I also want to have a separate notebook for my business-related stuff, to keep it organized without adding bulk I don’t need to carry on a daily basis to my personal planner. This notebook addiction is an illness, I swear!
