The clue for week two (available here) of the Yarnspirations CAL came out last Tuesday, and I finished my squares on Thursday. I’m still not sure how well I like how this step looks. The video tutorial promised layering more on top of the original gray square for the next clue though, so I’m hoping that it improves with the third clue! It was a pretty easy step to do, though I had to go back and redo a gray square. In doing this step, I discovered I’d missed a “double crochet” stitch in the first step that was rather vital to the pattern. Since I actually watched the video tutorial for this step, I’ve discovered that the blanket size is supposed to be “decor afghan throw size,” which at least gives a rough idea as to what I can expect for the finished size of this mystery afghan!
I haven’t come across a granny square pattern like this before, so to cheat a little I started browsing patterns on Google to see if I could find something similar… no luck, though, so it’s still truly a mystery. I’m looking forward to the third clue!
