I haven’t seemed to have much time for blogging lately, but there has been much gardening and a little crocheting going on!
I’d seen stamped spoons and forks for garden markers on Pinterest, and decided to make some myself for Father’s Day for my dad! I got some old silver-plated spoons and forks at a local antique shop, and the metal dies at Harbor Freight. After some intense hammering, and some Sharpie and rubbing alcohol to darken the letters, they were done! I kept the “Peas” and “Potatoes” spoons for myself, and I want to get back to get some more silverware to make markers for my garden!
If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you’ve likely already seen similar photos to most of these, but I thought I’d share what I’ve been up to on here anyway 🙂
I planted some carrot seeds around the pumpkin vines… Hopefully the leaves don’t smother them out! I planted to varieties, and then promptly forgot which I’d planted on which side of the bed, so it will be a surprise when I pull them up!
Broccoli, with four Bushy Cucumber plants hiding behind, a bare patch where some carrot seedlings are starting to emerge, three plants of Early Girl Tomatoes, and Walla-Walla Sweet Onions nestled between my strawberries
I already had one strawberry ripen, but unfortunately it seems that bugs got to it before I did, so my worms got to finish what was left 🙁 Hopefully I’ll get to eat a few strawberries from my own plants this year!
I’ve got some plans to plant my remaining plants in the back yard, but my plans are slowing down due to the heat we’re having this week/weekend. It hit 90 today, which means melting Washingtonian!
