Because I apparently shouldn’t be allowed access to both my cell phone and my credit card number early in the morning before I’m fully awake, I signed up for a year-long quilt-along (QAL) this year, hosted by Gnome Angel. All of the quilt blocks are from the book “The Farmer’s Wife 1930s Sampler Quilt” – and thankfully it came with a CD with PDF files for making the blocks using foundation paper piecing because all of the blocks are 6.5″ square (unfinished) and some of them have a LOT of tiny little pieces and some impossible angles.
The pace of the QAL is 2 blocks a week, making a total of 99 blocks. I got a little bit of a late start due to when I found out about it and when I ordered my fabric and book. I opted for the Tula Pink fabric bundle from Pink Door Fabrics because hello, excuse to buy fabric, and I liked the bright colors. I’ll be using a dark background with my blocks.
I’ve caught up for the first two weeks, now, and I hope to be sharing my blocks here weekly!
