Here’s week 5! I’m still working a bit ahead for now so I don’t fall behind if something comes up or if I start to lose steam, but I’ll be posting each week’s block finishes at the end of the week they are “assigned” to.
There’s some discussion on the Facebook group I’m in on needing to print some of the blocks “mirror image” because apparently whoever made the paper piecing patterns didn’t know how to do it correctly with the blocks that are asymmetrical – if you piece them normally, they’ll come out backwards from the quilt block in the book. I’m using an easier solution – because the paper piecing paper that I’m using is transparent enough to see through easily, I just flip the pieces over and sew from the wrong side of the paper, and voila! No screwing around with printer settings that may or may not actually exist. Of course, I realized after doing “Ava” that simply rotating the finished block would have gotten the desired result as well, but better safe than sorry! It did come in very handy with week 3’s “Anne”, though!
For more information on the quilt along I’m doing, please see my original post here.
