I’m an obsessive crafter: sewing, crochet, knitting, baking, and the list goes on! I’ve been sewing – or making a valiant attempt at it – since I was about four. I was taught to crochet by my mom and to knit by my Grandma when I was still in early grade school, but only in the last few years have I really taken off with the hobbies. I’m lucky enough to have my own sewing room, which makes all the sewing projects so much easier to work on, keep tidy and out of cats’ reach! I’ve also tried some jam and jelly making in the last few years with mostly successful results, and one batch of pickles, and I’m eager to try more of that as well… I’ve got a pressure canner sitting in the pantry just waiting to be used! Homemade bread is always delicious, and desserts (cake pops especially) are fun to make – and even more fun to eat!
I’m the unintentional owner of two cats. Our black-and-white tuxedo Monkey adopted us, and as for my fluffy ball of fur Mia… well, if you’ve already got one, what’s the difference if you get a second? Turns out quite a bit! To what I’m sure will be the dismay of both cats, I also hope to get a dog at some point.
I enjoy poking around in the garden until the bugs give me heebie-jeebies, and had some very mixed results with my first attempt at a proper vegetable garden. At least my sunflowers turned out well! I enjoy photography (definitely still a novice), especially in the digital age where I don’t have to worry about wasting film. I love living (and hiking) here in the Pacific Northwest (Washington, USA for international readers) and it still awes me that I live in such a beautiful area with gorgeous mountains just a day trip away. I also (obviously) enjoy blogging, and have had more interest in that in the last few years as well… It’s a great platform to show off many of my projects, as well as life in general.
